Site Map

This is quite a large and complex site, and we realise that not everyone has hours to spare or cheap online access. So you will find the site has been dyed tops divided up into appropriate categories as outlined below. We've tried to anticipate your questions, so if you want to know more about a particular aspect of our life here just click on the appropriate subheading and all will be revealed... you might call this site a FAQ with attitude... If you are unsure of where to look first our Site Map may be able to help, listing all of the contents of each category.

Link to Dunnose Head Farm Here's all the background info you might want on Dunnose Head Farm, including the tale of how we emigrated to the Falklands in 1979 with our children, got our own farm, improved the sheep, planted trees, and diversified when wool income made the farm non-viable. Learn what it's really like to live in Camp (the countryside outside Stanley) - far from any road or store or social centre. Meet some of the animals and explore the shearing shed.

Link to DHF Falklands DHF Falklands is our unique mail order business, exporting our beautiful Merino X Polwarth wool as top to handspinners and felters all over the world - using the local air service for the first leg to town. We also offer our unique 'old-fashioned' unbleached Aran yarns and lighter weight coned yarns, all with some residual lanolin. Naturally pure, naturally beautiful, and grown without the use of any artificial fertilisers, dips, injections or other chemicals, our wool is as unspoilt as you will find anywhere on this planet. Hence the DHF green sheep logo - your guarantee of purity. Please visit this section for more information.

Link to Black Sheep Designs Learn how Black Sheep Designs started, how it has developed and where it's heading. See some of the Falklands-inspired designs for yourself. Read about Rosemary's adventures in handspinning, dyeing, machine knitting, handknitting etc, the unique greetings cards and books. Explore the workshop (excuse the muddle), enjoy the photos - and learn how you could own a BSD garment.

Link to PowerSense Wind turbines are springing up all over the Falklands, thanks to PowerSense. Clive has built this business steadily over the years, helping fellow farmers to reap the benefits of the Falkland winds. Find out more...

Link to Falkland Islands You won't find a more fascinating group of islands than the Falklands. Not if you appreciate clean air, incredible wildlife, a very special way of life and oldfashioned values. If you'd like to learn more about the Islands, see something of the scenery and wildlife and get a feel for the place, here's a good starting point - with useful links for tourism, philately and general interest. Come on in - the water's lovely!
